Labour Policy

Everyone who works for Purpleclay should be treated fairly and kept safe. This policy covers everyone who works for us, employees and contractors alike. We follow the law wherever we work, and where the FSC labour requirements ask for more, we follow those.

No child labour. We do not hire anyone under 15, or under the legal minimum age where that is higher. No one under 18 does dangerous or heavy work.

No forced labour. All work is freely chosen. We never hold back pay, keep identity documents, charge recruitment fees, or use threats or debt to keep anyone working. Anyone can leave with reasonable notice.

Equal treatment. We hire, pay, train and promote people on their ability to do the job. We never discriminate on race, colour, sex, religion, political opinion, national or social origin, age, disability, sexual orientation or any other status protected by law.

Freedom to organise. People who work for us may form or join a union or workers' group of their choice and bargain together, without interference or retaliation. We negotiate in good faith with any lawful workers' organisation.

A safe workplace. We provide safe working conditions and act on any safety concern that is raised.

We expect the companies that make our products to respect the same principles. Anyone can raise a concern about this policy by writing to info@purpleclay.com. We will reply, look into it, and never penalise anyone for speaking up. We review this policy every year.
